Chief Boiler Operator

As Chief Boiler Operator, you will lead day-to-day boiler operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide a small team of engineers. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting in system upgrades—all while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

• Oversee daily boiler room operations and personnel

• Perform routine maintenance on boilers, steam lines, and related equipment

• Assist with installation and upgrades of boiler systems

• Ensure compliance with Nova Scotia Steam Regulations

• Provide hands-on mentorship to junior Power Engineers

• Maintain detailed logs and perform administrative tasks as needed

• Respond to system issues and participate in on-call scheduling

• 2nd or 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Chief Boiler Operator role

• Experience operating 400+ HP boilers and auxiliary equipment

• Familiarity with #2 Oil Fuel Burners

• Strong independent work ethic and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver’s license required
